If the Chiefs' plan is to use all these new picks+cap to reload with cheap youth for the next five years, I get it. It's a plan, at least.
If they make a big trade for a veteran with a new contract, it's basically a guaranteed downgrade. The next two months will be fascinating.

Tyreek Hill is a top-5 receiver in the league, but there are 0 WRs like Hill.

Sad to see the Chiefs lose an amazing weapon in Hill, however, I love the move to get a haul of picks (cheaper players) this year and next. This was likely headed for a holdout. That's the kind of distraction Andy Reid has never been a fan of... Get something while you can.

And lastly, Veach has a plan. You can't force a guy to play. That hasn't been reported and that's not me reporting it, but based on the trade it appears as though he would've sat out without a new deal. Chiefs have some cap space and plenty of picks, and the best QB. Have faith.
