Taylor Swift, Brittany Mahomes show off handshake during Chiefs game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Gray News) – Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had one of his best career performances at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, posting 179 yards and a touchdown on 12 receptions against the Los Angeles Chargers.

It was the second-highest receiving game of Kelce’s career, behind a 191-yard performance against the Chargers in 2021.

Not only was it National Tight Ends Day, but there’s a good chance he was motivated to take it to the next level with Taylor Swift in attendance for another matchup – her fourth since rumors began that she and Kelce are dating.

“Kelce keeps getting better with time. Taylor can stay around all she wants,” coach Andy Reid said during post-game interviews.

In true Swift fashion, she was seen wearing a friendship bracelet with Kelce’s No. 87 on it.

Prior to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium this summer, Kelce put his phone number on his bracelet with the intention of meeting Swift before or after the show.

Life has come full circle for Kelce over the last few months.

Swift watched the game from the friends and family suite next to Brittany Mahomes, wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, once again.

The pair’s friendship is starting to catch the public’s attention as well. They exchanged a celebratory handshake and hip bump when Kelce scored and the moment has taken the internet by storm.

The NFL posted the now-viral moment on X and wrote, “Not the handshake!!” The post has already been viewed more than 1.4 million times.
