KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The family of one of the three men found dead almost two weeks ago in the backyard of a home is seeking answers.

Clayton McGeeney, Ricky Johnson, and David Harrington were identified as the three men.

Alan McGeeney, Clayton’s cousin, said they’re shocked, confused, and beyond devastated.

“100% I think the situation is strange,” McGeeney said. “It just hasn’t really set in; I don’t think it will.”

The situation has sparked a lot of interest around the country. At this time, police are still waiting on the medical examiner’s office to determine how the men died.

“I’m not looking for anyone’s head or anything, but my cousin was frozen to the dirt for two days,” McGeeney said. “It’s gotten a lot of attention from everyone having questions but not a lot of attention from anyone having any action; it just seems strange.”

McGeeney said the two have been close their whole lives. “That one person that you have that is your go to, that’s Clayton,” McGeeney said. “He’s the last person I talk to at night and the first person I talk to in the morning.”

McGeeney said they finished a job on Sunday, the 7th. Clayton talked about going to watch the Chiefs game with some of their buddies.

When Clayton didn’t show up for work the following Monday or Tuesday, he knew something was up. That’s when Clayton’s fiancé went to the Northland house and found Clayton dead on the back porch, along with his two friends, dead in the yard.

As of now, police say there is no one in custody and have ruled out foul play.

Mia Dukes lives a few houses down and told KCTV5 the home has been rented out for about six months.

“But no one’s really come in and out of the house at all, we don’t really see anybody,” Dukes said.

Dukes said since the bodies were found, there’s been no movement from the house, except she spotted a U-Haul.

“It was parked in the grass over there, not in the driveway,” Dukes said. “It wasn’t there very long.”

McGreeney said while he’s never been to that house, he knew all three men very well. He wants Clayton to be ed as a good, hard-working man.

“Clayton was a level line in a lot of people’s lives; he was always the same person,” McGreeney said. “He was dependable. He had a lot of different friends and ran in different circles.”

There is a GoFundMe if you’d like to help the family through this tough time.
