Several cars pull over due to flat tires on NB I-435 near stadiums, MoDOT crews patching pothole
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed off two lanes of traffic on Northbound I-435 Thursday afternoon due to a pothole that may be causing flat tires.
Video from KC Scout cameras showed nearly 15 cars pulled over to the shoulder just past the I-70 over, and several KCTV5 callers confirmed they were due to flat tires.
While a MoDOT spokesperson could not confirm the pothole caused the flat tires, it was stated as “likely.” It was not known how many potholes were in the area needing to be filled.
The spokesperson said the pothole had been patched recently, but the changing weather, including the extreme cold, is not ideal for the temporary patch to hold.
MoDOT crews were on the scene as of 3:30 p.m., and the pothole was expected to be filled by the end of the evening hours.
