KC area legislators introduce resolution to honor Chiefs’ Super Bowl run

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Area legislators have introduced a resolution to honor the Kansas City Chiefs’ most recent Super Bowl run.
The U.S. House of Representatives announced on Monday, March 4, that Congressmen Emanuel Cleaver II (D-MO ), Sam Graves (R-MO), and Mark Alford (R-MO) as well as Congresswoman Sharice Davids (D-KS) introduced a resolution to honor the 2023-24 Kansas City Chiefs and their championship season.
“There are few things that can bring a community together like sports—and even fewer that can bring folks together like the Chiefs have done for the Kansas City region,” said Congressman Cleaver. “All year, the haters and the doubters tried to downplay the talent, tenacity, and teamwork that made this team truly special, but we knew all too well that they had all they needed to bring another Lombardi Trophy back to Chiefs Kingdom and cement their status as a dynasty. From the players and coaches to the ownership and staff, and of course the best fanbase in football, this was a season that our community will forever; and this bipartisan resolution will ensure the record books of America it, too.”
Legislators noted that the resolution highlights the organization’s accomplishments, the biggest plays of Super Bowl LVIII and the Chiefs Kingdom.
“The Kansas City Chiefs had another incredible season this year,” said Congressman Graves. “In spite of seemingly everyone claiming the Chiefs were broken, they persevered and proved the naysayers wrong yet again. Congratulations to this incredible team, the owners, staff and fans. The Chiefs Kingdom dynasty is just getting started.”
Original cosponsors of the resolution also include Reps. Jake LaTurner (R-KS), Jason Smith (R-MO), Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO), and Zach Nunn (R-IA).
“I am thrilled to stand alongside our community in celebrating Kansas City’s back-to-back Super Bowl victories! This historic win not only unites us all but also showcases the resilience and spirit of our team and fans,” said Representative Davids. “Congratulations to the players, coaching staff, personnel, and our devoted fans for this well-deserved championship. While I don’t want to get ahead of myself, I can’t help but look forward to the possibility of celebrating a three-peat next year!”
