KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Missouri farmers are taking over the big screen. “McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys” follows one of the largest family-owned farming ranching operations in the country based in Gallatin, Missouri.

“I feel like this is probably the most realistic reality show out today on the market,” says Steve McBee, the patriarch of the family and owner of the farm.

Steve spent most of his life building McBee Farm & Cattle Co. Now, it is time for him to hand it over to one of his four sons.

In the 11-episode reality show, his sons Steven Jr., Cole, Jesse, and Brayden fight over who will take control.

“There’s a lot of stress and pressure that comes with that,” Steven Jr. said.

There is also a lot of debt that comes with ownership as well. Whoever takes over the farm will oversee $50 million in debt while racing to secure a $100 million deal with a venture capital firm.

“Galyna is a big part of that, she helps a ton,” Steve said gesturing to his CFO, Galyna Saltkovska. “When you start businesses, the grind and the pain is real.”

The McBee family is not only shining a light on the tough farming industry, but also on the state of Missouri.

“We’re proud of Kansas City and what’s coming of Kansas City,” Steven said.

The show comes after the Show Mo Act was reinstated—a tax incentive for production companies to film projects in Missouri.

The McBee family hopes their show will highlight what happens in small towns in America while opening future opportunities for the state.

“We want America to know what happens in these so-called flyover states. There is a lot to them than what most people think,” Steven said.

The show is now streaming on Peacock.
