Residents buzz as Hallmark’s Chiefs move continues filming in Independence
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - An Hallmark movie, “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story” will continue to shoot in Independence Square over the weekend.
While filmmakers have already completed scenes at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City Chiefs who are of the cast have also been announced, including Head Coach Andy Reid.
KCTV5 News snuck out to the film shoot on Saturday, July 13, and spoke with residents about what the movie has meant for them.
“We love the square and it’s just neat to see that it’s being filmed in our hometown that’s been here for years and years,” said Barbara McCulley, Independence homeowner.
Others have embraced the Christmas in July hype.
“And movies can make magic happen and it’s really neat to see a Christmas scene in the heat of July here,” Micki Burns, another Independence resident, said.
