Kansas City radio shakeup: Big changes coming to 3 stations
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Radio will sound a lot different in Kansas City starting next week.
For decades, fans of alternative music found a home at 96.5 The Buzz. That will change Aug. 15.
An announcement from Audacy will silence the alternative music and turn 96.5 into Kansas City’s first full-time FM sports station.
The Buzz will switch identities and become “The Fan” at 6 a.m. next Thursday. Audacy said the new format will include sports talk, play-by-play coverage, and live games.
