KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It’s not every day that someone celebrates their birthday at their first Chiefs game, but that’s exactly what 9-year-old Cesar Juarez did on Thursday. The Chiefs hosted the Bears in their preseason finale – during Cesar’s first trip to Arrowhead.

“When he found out, he was just ecstatic,” said Cesar’s father, Cesar Sr. “I couldn’t believe it. Tickled my heart a little bit there.”

The 9-year-old Juarez is a lifelong Chiefs fan that comes from a family of die-hard of Chiefs Kingdom. Juarez and his family were among Arrowhead’s first tailgaters on Tuesday. Young Cesar said the stadium was larger than life in person.

“It’s so great. It’s way bigger,” said the 9-year-old.

Cesar said his favorite players are Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Isaiah Pacheco. He knows almost everything about the team – something that surprises his mother.

“It’s precious to see my baby out here doing something that he loves,” said Chrissy Juarez. “I’m always shocked when I hear the kids talk and they know all the statistics, who does what, and how many scores they’ve had.”

The Chiefs lost to the Bears 34-21 to finish the preseason 0-3. Only two teams have ever finished the preseason winless and won the Super Bowl (1982 Washington Football Team, 2021 Los Angeles Rams). The Chiefs will attempt to that exclusive list next February.
