Park Hill grad plays first game with Chiefs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Park Hill High School alum took the field at Arrowhead Thursday night donning a Chiefs uniform for the first time.
The Chiefs signed former K-State long snapper Randen Plattner as a temporary replacement for James Winchester, who suffered an AC t sprain during Kansas City’s second preseason game this August.
Plattner filled Winchester’s duties during the Chiefs’ preseason finale against Chicago. Winchester hurt his shoulder in the Week 2 preseason game against the Lions, but is expected to return in time for Week 1.

Plattner originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. The team waived him Aug. 11.
The Parkville, Mo. native played 62 games in Manhattan — the second-most in K-State’s school history.
A four-year Big 12 All-Academic Team member, Plattner finished his senior campaign as a semifinalist for the Patrick Mannelly Long Snapper of the Year award.
The Chiefs waived injured offensive lineman McKade Mettauer to make room for Plattner on the roster.
