Irish Fest cancels popular breakfast after founding chef shot and killed
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Irish community is mourning the death of a popular Brookside chef.
A gunman shot and killed Shaun Brady outside his Brady and Fox restaurant near 63rd and Rockhill Road Wednesday evening.
It happened as the close-knit community prepares for the annual Irish Fest festival.
Organizers released a statement about Brady’s homicide Thursday morning.
On behalf of the Kansas City Irish Fest Community, our hearts are absolutely broken to hear of the tragic loss of our dear friend and colleague Shaun Brady. Shaun was not only a large part of the Kansas City Irish Fest Family, his restaurant, Brady and Fox, was a place where many in the Irish community gathered.
While Irish Fest will continue at Crown Center Labor Day weekend, organizers announced one key change. The traditional Sunday Irish Breakfast will not take place.
Irish Fest said it plans to release additional information on how it plans to honor Brady in the near future.
