Kansas City announces plans to redevelop historic Plaza tennis courts
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The city hopes a developer has a plan to bring new life to the Kansas City Plaza.
Kansas City is accepting proposals to redevelop the site of the historic tennis courts on the Plaza at Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. and Baltimore Ave.
The ideal plan would relocate the existing tennis courts and build multi-family units, according to the city. Since there is not a lot of room, the request said access to KC Streetcar should be used instead of adding a lot of parking.
The city also said it hopes the chosen plan will reflect the current architectural style of the Plaza while engaging the community and offering ground floor retail and public space.
