Chiefs’ Brown out for the season following latest shoulder X-ray
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An injury that happened during the first play of the season will keep Kansas City Chiefs’ Marquise “Hollywood” Brown off the field for the entire regular season.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that sources have told him Marquise “Hollywood” Brown will not play in the 2024 regular season due to a shoulder injury that now requires surgery.
Sources told Schefter that there is still a chance Brown could play in the postseason, however, he would not be back any sooner than mid-January.
Friday, Head Coach Andy Reid told the media that Brown was expected to be out for months after he suffered an injury to his shoulder catching a during the first play of the first preseason game.
Brown revealed in a post to X on Friday night that a final check of his shoulder revealed the bone had moved which would require surgery. However, he plans to work his way back onto the field as soon as possible.
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 at Arrowhead Stadium.
