To apply, businesses must provide proof of insurance, copies of receipts, copy of KD incident report, photos of damages and repairs, and a TED Report.

The city is still deciding if businesses can get both grants as they would like to provide as much help as possible.

“I think we will see a high subscription unfortunately because a lot of people have been hit but Kansas City is a place that every business should feel comfortable operating,” said Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas. “We have great market demographics, we have a lot of people coming through we need to make sure it will be safe this is one step particular on the prevention side where we can do it.”

They plan for applications to be reviewed on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.

This goes to City Council on Thursday and if ed, they plan for applications to open on October 7 and provide an update on the program at the beginning of November.
