‘We have all we need’: Missouri church changes service after devastating fire

ADRIAN, Mo. (KCTV) - Sunday service will be very different for a congregation in a Missouri community.

of Adrian United Methodist Church plan to worship at the city’s park inside of inside a sanctuary. The decision is due to need instead of choice.

Fire destroyed the church Wednesday morning. Firefighters said it started sometime before 6:15 a.m.

The church’s pastor said everyone is welcome at Sunday’s service by the lake, because crisis is when family needs to come together.

"We may not have a building today but we have all that we need - we have one another & we have a mighty God who promises to be with us through it all. We are the church...a loving, caring family full of imperfect people who are doing their brokenly best to follow Jesus Christ with all that we have & all that we are," the church’s pastor said on Facebook.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
