Weekend clinic in the Kansas City metro focuses on football and kindness
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - Football and kindness, that is the focus of a clinic that happened over the weekend in Overland Park.
The American Ballers and the SevenDays Foundation teamed up to put on an event to enrich the lives of children across the Kansas City metro. Former Chiefs players Shawn Barber and KCTV5 Sports Analyst Dezman Moses taught some basic football skills.
“These are things that you can try to implement at home. Whether it’s being kind, you know, having understanding, having some kind of comion towards your kids and just letting them be kids,” said Sean Birdsong. “I think us as adults can also learn from that. Being more kind to each other, especially with the climate that we’re in right now in the world. Just not losing sight of sports is fun, but life is also fun as well.”
The Kindness Youth Leadership Team from Seven Days took over after football practice and taught a class on kindness.
