LIBERTY, Mo. (KCTV) - Robyn Warner was in court Tuesday facing the man she accuses of abusing her now 4-month-old baby girl.

Johnny Bonacorso is accused of child abuse and neglect of Willow Warner. Her mom says that Willow almost went brain-dead due to the abuse.

Robyn Warner says she came to the Clay County Courthouse because she wanted Bonacorso to know she will not stop fighting until she gets justice for her daughter.

Cameras were not allowed inside the courtroom, but Bonacorso told the judge he was waiting to be assigned a public defender. He’s still pleading not guilty. Bonacorso’s bond hearing was pushed to Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Bonacorso was living temporarily with Warner. At one point the two were friends through his girlfriend but she ed away earlier this year.

Bonacorso watched baby Willow at night while Robyn worked.

After watching the same man she once considered a friend, led away in shackles, Warner says this kind of betrayal can’t go unpunished.

“He hurt a child, that right there is the most sickening thing I’ve ever heard”, Warner said. “In my life and for him to do it to my child, I want to make sure he stays where he’s at and gets everything that he deserves. He looked guilty, he couldn’t stop moving or sit still the whole time. He was constantly looking down at his hands and fighting with his hands. I’ve never seen anybody 100% innocent that can’t sit still.”

“The only person to blame is Johnny,” Robyn’s longtime friend Susan Thompson argued. “And we want to make sure she knows we’re here for her, we’re here for Willow and we’re going to see this through until the end.”

Warner says that she will continue coming to court, demanding justice and making sure there is no chance of Bonacorso being released on bond.

If convicted, Bonacorso could face a maximum of 15 years in prison. He’ll remain in custody at the Clay County Detention Center until his next hearing.

KCTV learned more positive news on baby Willow’s recovery. She got her EEG Leads taken off as her brain continues to heal. Warner will finally have a chance to see her entire face again.
