The Independence Square Association (ISA) replaced more than 6,000 bulbs used to outline the rooflines of downtown Independence.
Many of those bulbs have been turned into holiday keepsakes.
“As a non-profit historic preservation organization, we appreciate the we are receiving from Hallmark movie fans. These ornaments are a way to preserve the memories of a locally made movie, and they help us preserve the place where memories have been made for nearly 200 years,” said Jeff Rogers, Executive Director of Independence Square Association.
The bulbs feature the logo of downtown Independence which can also be seen on the banners in the film. Each holiday ornament also came with a miniature red or green stocking cap, a subtle nod to the movie’s storyline.
Each ISA holiday ornament sold for $10.
A limited number of ornaments will be available for in-person purchase only on November 30 at the Holiday Market on the Square (113 W Lexington Avenue) beginning at 10 a.m.
Updates will be shared on social media and the ISA website.
