Chiefs to host blood drive ahead of 27th Annual Chiefs Week celebration

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The reigning Super Bowl champs are gearing up to host a blood drive alongside Community Blood Center (CBC). The Chiefs and CBC have partnered for years to help save lives.

Fans and donors alike can expect appearances from KC Wolf, Cheifs Cheerleaders and Cheifs Ambassadors throughout the day.

Donors will receive a Chiefs t-shirt as well as entered into a drawing to win tickets to the Chiefs vs. Raiders home game on Nov. 29.

“For decades, the Chiefs have been an invaluable partner in ing blood donation ahead of the holiday season, which is often one of the most challenging times for blood collection,” said Chelsey Smith, Director of Public Relations at Community Blood Center.

The blood drive will be hosted on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Following the drive Chiefs Week celebrations will kick-off however donors will have another opportunity to donate blood at all CBC locations.

Chiefs Week will begin on Sunday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Dec. 7.

All who come to donate at any CBC location or blood drive will be entered into a separate drawing for tickets to the Chiefs vs. Texans home game on Dec. 21.

“Blood donations are critical for our healthcare system to function and we’re grateful to the Chiefs for their in helping to build a healthier community,” Smith said.

Donors will have to make an appointment for the blood drive hosted at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
