Semi-truck drives away after hitting, killing man on side of highway, troopers say

SULLIVAN, Mo. (KMOV/Gray News) – Authorities say a semi-truck driver was taken into custody after a fatal hit-and-run in Missouri.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 60-year-old man was struck and killed on the side of Interstate 44 in Sullivan on Monday afternoon.
The accident happened just after 1:30 p.m. near mile marker 225, about an hour southwest of St. Louis.
Police said two cars were parked on the shoulder of I-44 when the semi-truck sideswiped both vehicles and struck the 60-year-old man, killing him.
Police said the semi-truck left the scene. The driver was later taken into custody.
