KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez is in Kansas City this week as part of Amazon Prime Video’s coverage of a Black Friday contest between the Chiefs and Raiders.

Gonzalez, who is tied with tight end Travis Kelce for the Chiefs’ all-time franchise touchdown record entering Friday, implored the 35-year-old tight end to commit an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty when he breaks the record.

“I’m so happy for him,” Gonzalez said Friday during Amazon’s pregame show. “He’s one of the best tight ends to ever do it on and off the field. To watch him grow, I’ve been following him since he was a rookie and I’m not surprised by it.”

The Chiefs’ all-time franchise record for receiving touchdowns is 76. With the pair of Chiefs legends tied, Kelce could take over sole possession of that record to go along with his records for receptions and receiving yards in Kansas City history.

When Gonzalez used to score touchdowns, his signature celebration was to dunk the ball through the goalposts. Now, making with the goalposts is an unsportsmanlike penalty and is accompanied by a hefty fine.

“I can’t wait to see this happen,” Gonzalez said. “If he dunks it, I will pay that fine!”
