With Black Friday over, KC Pet Project’s efforts to house dozens of pets continue
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - While KC Pet Project has officially wrapped up its Black Friday adoption special, the shelter’s efforts to get pets into their forever home are far from over.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, dozens of pets were adopted, however, dozens are still waiting for their chance to find a home. KC Pet Project’s executive director Teresa Johnson said the colder weather brings new challenges.
Johnson indicated that as temperatures drop, more pets pile into the shelter, leaving dozens without a home.
“There are so many pets that need to be adopted, and we are still taking in 40 to 60 new animals a day - every single day, 7 days a week,” Johnson told KCTV5 News. “So, it’s really important that when we are getting pets adopted, we’re making room for more that are coming in every day.”
For those who missed out over the weekend, there are more adoption specials just around the corner to close out the year. Those ready to adopt can just show up to the shelter and fill out a quick application.
