Second porch pirate charged in theft spree as investigators ID a dozen victims
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Investigators are searching for a man accused of stealing packages from a more than a dozen homes over Thanksgiving weekend.
Matthew T. Robinson, 41, of Excelsior Springs is charged with felony theft and one count of felony possession of a controlled substance. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said Robinson is also wanted on a number of unrelated other crimes.

Robinson is not in custody as of late Thursday morning.

Prosecutors believe Robinson and 24-year-old Kayley Worthington are responsible for stealing packages from locations in Liberty, Smithville, and Kansas City.

The sheriff’s office said its work with police departments in those cities led them to a house in Excelsior Springs Monday evening. Officers arrested Worthington at the home. Robinson was at the house, but escaped, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies served a search warrant at the house and recovered 51 stolen items, as well as methamphetamine.
Detectives said they have identified 12 victims, but investigators say there are additional victims out there. They said many of the stolen items remain unclaimed.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who is missing a package that was delivered last week should file a report with their local police department.
