Wife of prominent attorney convicted of killing him, burning his body

ATLANTA (WANF/Gray News) - The wife of a well-known Atlanta attorney was sentenced Thursday for killing her husband and burning his body.

Melody Farris, 64, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. She will not be eligible for parole for at least 30 years.

Melody Farris was convicted of killing her husband, Gary Farris, 58, in July 2018. She shot her husband before leaving his body on a burn pile.

Melody Farris was convicted of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, concealing the death of another and making a false statement.
