Johnson County man ejected from airborne car during fatal rollover crash

LONE JACK, Mo. (KCTV) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says one man died Sunday in a violent single-car crash.
The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Dec. 8 as a 57-year-old man from Kingsville, Missouri, was headed south on South Buckner Tarsney Road, southeast of Lake Lotawana.
According to MSHP, the man first drove off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail. After impact, he returned to the road but quickly went off the other side, sending his car airborne before it hit a tree. The car flipped and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
Lone Jack police declared the man dead at the scene. His body was released to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of the crash is unclear. MSHP Troop A noted it as the 70th fatal crash of 2024.
