Plaza bar employees barricade armed suspect into corner until police arrive
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Late Saturday night, the Kansas City Police Department responded to a disturbance at a popular holiday pop-up bar.
Just before midnight on Dec. 14, KD was dispatched to the Miracle pop-up bar at West 48th Street and Jefferson Street on the Country Club Plaza.
Callers told police there was a person inside the bar trying to stab people with a knife. When officers arrived, they found the bar’s employees had isolated the suspect into a corner and barricaded the individual in using stools and other furniture.
KD said the suspect was arrested without any further issues and nobody was seriously injured. The suspect’s identity has not yet been released.
Sunday morning, Miracle on the Plaza released a statement confirming the location will be open for regular business hours with extra security.
