$7.5K reward offered for information about fatal shooting of Missouri canines
PRAIRIE HOME, Mo. (KCTV) - The community has rallied behind a dog owner who has offered a substantial reward for information about the fatal shooting of his two dogs.
The Cooper County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office tells KCTV5 news that an investigation has been opened after two loved canines were found shot to death on Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The owner of the dogs said they went missing around 4:30 p.m. from the area of Campbell Bridge Rd. and EE Highway, about 5 miles north of Prairie Home. Both canines had collars with their names clearly displayed.
However, law enforcement officials said both dogs were found deceased with gunshot wounds around 7 p.m. the same night. The owner will issue an award for information which has grown to $7,500 thanks to the community’s generosity.
Investigators said they have spoken to the owner and those in the area, but as of 5 p.m. on Thursday, they had no leads. The investigation remains ongoing and no further details have been released.
