KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It’s official. After closing its doors upon the shooting death of Chef Shaun Brady, Brady & Fox Irish pub and restaurant is no more.

The large “Restaurant Space For Lease” sign can be seen in the front windows on 751 East 63rd Street near Rockhill Road in the heart of Brookside.

Chef Shaun Brady, 44, was killed while taking out trash at his restaurant. Brady approached two boys breaking into a car in the parking lot in the evening hours of August 28, 2024 - two days before the One teen is charged, the other teen’s charges have since been dropped.

Brady was a beloved member of the Irish Kansas City community and his restaurant a gathering spot for all. On news of his ing, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas and then Jackson County lead prosecutor Jean Peters Baker were among many who spoke out. Some knew and understood Brady’s ion for sharing good food with love on a more personal level.

“That brogue of his always cracked me up, because I felt like the more he drank, the better I could understand him, or maybe the more I drank, the better I can understand him,” said Governor Stumpy’s Grill House Owner, Kevin Ryan. “(He had a) wife and two kids (and was) just a lovely man with a big heart.”
