Kansas City v. Texas barbeque: Mayors make traditional bet for playoff game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It wouldn’t be the playoffs without the bet between cities.
On Thursday, Mayor Quinton Lucas arrived at LC’s Bar-B-Q on Blue Parkway to announce the wager with Houston Mayor John Whitmire.
So what’s on the line? The city who loses Saturday’s game ships its tastiest ribs and sauce to the winning city.
Mayor Lucas was quick to say he doesn’t have a favorite KC barbeque, but itted LC’s holds a special place in his heart.
Lucas says he is confident in his chances with a record of 14-2 for Chief’s Kingdom.
