Andy Reid wins 300th NFL game as Chiefs earn 7th straight AFC Championship berth
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had an extra reason to celebrate Saturday’s playoff win against the Houston Texans.
With the win, the Chiefs earned an appearance in their seventh-straight AFC Championship game.
Andy Reid also reached a personal milestone with the victory.
The Jan. 18, win against the Texans was Reid’s 300th NFL victory as a head coach.

Reid is fourth on the list of winningest NFL coaches:
- Don Shula, 347 wins
- Bill Belichick, 333 wins
- George Halas, 324 wins
- Andy Reid, 300 wins
- Tom Landry, 270 wins
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said the success isn’t just because of his coaching abilities.
“(He’s) more than a great coach, he’s just a great person and guys want to play for a guy like that. He’s been so instrumental in making me who I am, and I owe him a lot of my – pretty much all (of) my success. I told him that we need to get to 302, though before (the end of) this year, then we can worry about next year," Mahomes said.
Reid is also the only head coach in the NFL to win 100 games with two franchises: the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs.

When it comes to playoff wins, Reid’s count is 27. That is just four behind Belichick for most of all time.
