Crashes snarl traffic near I-70 as fans leave Arrowhead following AFC Divisional Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Fans ran into trouble trying to leave GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium after the Chiefs beat the Texans.

Kansas City police said a driver hit a car on Stadium Drive. The crash happened near a group of people. Police said none of the pedestrians were hit by the moving car.

The driver of the car who allegedly caused the crash suffered critical injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.

Officers are also working a crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 just past U.S. 40 Highway. The crash on I-70 caused emergency crews to close the two left lanes of the highway.

Emergency responders said the I-70 crash involved multiple vehicles.

Police are directing traffic coming out of Arrowhead to help control the congestion.
