SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) - The Shawnee Police Department says one man was arrested Monday after he tried to evade them through multiple illegal means.
According to the department, officers saw a stolen car driving in a northwest Shawnee neighborhood and tried to pull it over. The driver refused to stop but was forced to when he crashed into a fire hydrant.
The man then got out of the crashed car and ran from the scene. He tried to steal another car from someone’s driveway and then tried to break into the back door of a home. A K9 officer was able to locate the man between two houses and he was taken into custody safely.
Any potential charges against the suspect are currently unclear.
