Upon arrival, KCKPD said an adult man was found dead inside the home with gunshot wounds.
Marcos Rodriguez lives nearby and told KCTV5 that he woke up to the gunshots.
“I heard the shot around 1:20ish,” Rodriguez said. “I didn’t think much of it because unfortunately in this area, that’s something you hear quite frequently.”
Rodriguez said that he didn’t know the family well but would see around six people from time to time, a few were children.
“But I noticed a lot of people who didn’t live there that would go to that house,” Rodriguez said. “Made me a little uncomfortable but we can only let the police do their work and hope for the best.”
The victim’s identity has not yet been released and no one appears to be in custody. The case remains under investigation.
