LIBERTY, Mo. (KCTV) - Police in Liberty, Missouri, are now looking for a vehicle involved in a crash that resulted in an SUV ending up in an icy creek.

When an officer and assistant fire chief started to approach the vehicle, ice gave way, submerging an officer up to his waist in the cold water. Still, the officer continued using a tool to break the windshield allowing the driver to escape.

Liberty Police said firefighters then removed the remainder of the windshield, allowing an officer to crawl through to the back seat and reach a 6-month-old secured in a car seat.

Anyone with information to share about the suspect vehicle is asked to call 816-439-4701 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
