Reid: Chiefs won’t activate Hardman due to knee injury

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs won’t have Super Bowl LVIII hero Mecole Hardman available for the remainder of the season, head coach Andy Reid confirmed Wednesday.
Reid told reporters during his first comments ahead of the AFC Championship Game that last year’s Super Bowl game-winning touchdown scorer will remain on injured reserve due to a knee injury that has sidelined him since late November.
“We’ll probably put him back on IR,” Reid said Wednesday.

Hardman had 12 receptions for 90 yards and five carries for 62 yards and a touchdown with the Chiefs in 2024. He re-signed on a one-year deal in June after previously being re-acquired by Kansas City during the 2023 season in a trade from the New York Jets.
The former Georgia Bulldog is one of six Chiefs that have been on every Chiefs roster in this era of Kansas City football to reach all four Super Bowls.
Sunday’s AFC Championship Game will kick off at 5:30 p.m. It can be seen live on KCTV.
