DJ Unk, ‘Walk It Out’ and ‘2 Step’ rapper dies at 43, reports say
ATLANTA, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) - DJ Unk, an Atlanta rapper known for the hit single “Walk It Out” has died, according to TMZ.
DJ Unk died Friday at 43, but his cause of death was not immediately known.
Several family on social media confirmed news of Unk’s death, Variety reported.
“Please respect me and my family,” wrote his wife Sherkita Long-Platt on Facebook. “I just lost my husband and my kids just lost their father. Our life will never be the same. I LOVE YOU ANTHONY FOREVER.”
Released in 2006, “Walk It Out” peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and gave him his first top 10 single of his career.
He was also known for “2 Step,” which touched No. 24 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the US rap charts.
