OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - A construction project set to include a new farmers’ market pavilion and community gathering space in Overland Park has a new name.

The area will be called “Clock Tower Landing,” following approval at a City Council meeting Monday night.

The City solicited ideas from the community beginning with a community engagement process in November. Overland Park said the selected name “expands on an existing, familiar downtown landmark. It includes a playful connection to the area’s history as an early 1900s aviation hub and its future as a community gathering space.”

Overland Park also released renderings of the project space.

Once complete, the area will serve as the host to the Overland Park Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the market season.
