These tasks can be difficult for patients who suffer from the most common inner ear disorder, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.

For people with this type of vertigo, just moving their head can make the room spin.

While doctors say symptoms typically clear up in weeks, there are rare cases, including a woman in South Carolina, whose symptoms have lasted for years.
