Taylor Swift marvels at Chiefs fans following AFC Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - For as much comfort and normalcy as an AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium brought to much of Chiefs Kingdom, one member was unaware of what it would be like.

In a video shared Wednesday by NFL Films, superstar musician Taylor Swift is seen marveling at the aftermath of Kansas City’s third consecutive AFC Championship.

“This is so insane,” Swift says in the video as confetti falls on the field. “Look at this. Look at this. This is not a real-life situation.”

“It wasn’t like this in Baltimore last year,” Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce responded to his girlfriend after the Chiefs had to play on the road in last season’s AFC Championship Game win over the Baltimore Ravens.

“No, it was not,” Swift responds. “This is so crazy. I cannot believe this is really happening. I’m in shock.”

The video also shows Kelce’s mother, Donna, complimenting him for the block he provided quarterback Patrick Mahomes on a go-ahead 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

“I’m trying to win a third one, mom,” Kelce replied. “I’m doing anything I possibly can. I’ll run through a wall.”

Kelce had 2 receptions for 19 yards in the win, snapping a 15-game streak of 70-plus receiving yards in a game during the playoffs for the 35-year-old.

The Chiefs will have a chance to turn three straight AFC titles into three straight Super Bowl titles on Sunday, Feb. 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
