KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ trophy case is getting quite full. And while the two-time NFL MVP won’t be adding another of those trophies to his collection, his latest playoff performance might have it getting a bit slimier.

Mahomes was named the Nickelodeon Playoffs NVP on Friday following his fifth AFC Championship Game win of his career. Mahomes was given the award after completing 18 of 26 es for 245 yards and 3 total touchdowns -- including a career-high 2 rushing scores -- in Sunday’s win over the Buffalo Bills.

Nickelodeon, which has broadcasted a kids broadcast of select playoff games in recent years, has handed out the award in recent years. Mahomes, no stranger to awards, has two NFL MVPs and three Super Bowl MVPs in his trophy case already.

Several award winners have gotten slimed with the signature green goo from Nickelodeon in years past. It’s unclear whether the Chiefs’ franchise quarterback partook in the same tradition.

The Chiefs team social media pages also shared a video Friday of the quarterback’s offensive teammates congratulating him on the award.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 on Sunday, Feb. 9.
