KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It’s about to be a showdown on the field and in the kitchen!

With a Super Bowl 57 matchup, some local businesses are connecting with others across the country for their own friendly wager.

Greg Hunsucker, owner of V’s Italiano Ristorante, one of the oldest Italian restaurants, said when the Chiefs won the ACF championship, he knew he wanted to do something.

“I said there’s got to be a restaurant like us there, so I went on Google and found Dante and Luigi’s, one of Philadelphia’s oldest Italian Restaurants,” Hunsucker said. “We’re 62 and they are 126 years old.”

So, what are they betting? Thier special, Osso Bucco.

“Our Osso Bucco, a brazed roasted Veal Shank, we lightly flour it in our season flour, we pan sear it, then it goes into a baking casserole, and we add onions, celery, carrots,” Hunsucker said. “Then we do a beautiful demi-glaze that goes over the top of it, and that all bakes for about 6 hours.”

The wagers don’t stop here, Joe’s Barbeque and Pat’s King of Steaks in Philly.

“Classic businesses just trying to get people excited,” said Eric Tadda with Joe’s Barbeque.

The for the bet are simple: the losing restaurant will send their opponent a selection of their classic, along with enough to share with a local rehouse near the winning restaurant.

“In Kansas City, we’re going to feed, when we win, we’re going to feed KCK firemen, and then they have a firehouse that’s pretty close to them, and they’re going to want to feed BBQ to their Philly firemen,” Tadda said.

Both restaurant owners say this will certainly keep them focused on the game.
