KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - A good Samaritan may have the key police need to solve a recent crime.

Now they hope someone will help officers find that man.

Police said the man noticed a young woman in distress early in the morning on Dec. 21. The man stopped and asked if the woman needed help.

He then gave the woman a ride home and waited for her to safely get inside her residence.

The man is in his 40s, or maybe a little older. He drove a tan SUV when he stopped to help the woman.

Detectives believe the man may have details they need to solve a crime. The department did not elaborate on the crime.

They emphasized the man is not a suspect.

If you know the good Samaritan, or happen to be him, please call the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department and ask for Det. Berry.
