KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - U.S. Representatives from both Kansas City and Philly have bet on their home teams as the Chiefs and Eagles prepare for the biggest game in the NFL.

U.S. Representatives Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) and Sharice Davids (D-KS) announced on Friday, Feb. 7, that they have made a friendly bet with Philadelphia area Congressmen Dwight Evans (D-PA) and Brendan Boyle (D-PA) ahead of Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

“During my time in Congress, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my Philadelphian colleagues, just as I have enjoyed watching the Chiefs beat up on their beloved Eagles in the Super Bowl,” said Rep. Cleaver. “The Chiefs have won the past two Lombardi Trophies, so I have no reason to believe Super Bowl LIX will be any different. I look forward to watching Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs triumph to their third Super Bowl title in a row – and celebrating with some of Philadelphia’s finest Chiefsteaks and soft pretzels!”

If the Chiefs win, the metro area Representatives said they will get Philly cheesesteaks and soft pretzels. Should the Eagles find their way to victory, they will provide some of Kansas City’s finest barbecue.

“Kansas City has built a dynasty, and I have full confidence that we’ll be celebrating another championship win this year,” Davids said. “I always enjoy a little friendly competition with my colleagues from Philly — but let’s be real, they should start preparing to send over some of their finest Philly cheesesteaks and pretzels. Looking forward to a great game and an even better outcome for Kansas City!”

This bet s the growing list of wagers Kansas City area restaurants, organizations, individuals and more have made with those in Philly.

“As a proud representative of Philadelphia, the birthplace of America, I feel good about the chances of Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts and the entire Eagles team – and I look forward to enjoying some Kansas City barbecue,” Evans said.

The Chiefs and Eagles are set to kick off at 5:30 p.m. in New Orleans for the big game on Sunday, Feb. 9.

“I know I speak not just for my Philadelphia constituents, but for the rest of the country when I say I’m looking forward to seeing the Eagles deny the Chiefs another Super Bowl,” said Congressman Boyle. “I can’t wait to enjoy some Kansas City barbecue, courtesy of Representatives Cleaver and Davids, after the Eagles feast on the Chiefs this Sunday.”
