BUCKNER, Mo. (KCTV) - A collision with a Buckner fire hydrant has caused a city-wide boil advisory as crews work to make speedy repairs.

The City of Buckner announced on Sunday, Feb. 9, that a boil advisory has been issued for residents in the city following a water main break. A collision between a vehicle and a fire hydrant caused a drop in pressure.

City officials noted that those in the area of Neils Chiles Rd. to Lake City Rd. and those east of BB highway from Lake City Rd. to Highway 24 should boil water before consumption. The City of Sibley is also included in the boil advisory.

Residents should boil their water for at least 1 minute before consumption or use bottled water. They will be notified once the water is once again safe to drink.
