NEW ORLEANS (KCTV) - Dozens of children ed a New Orleans native on the field before Super Bowl LIX.

Grammy Award-winning singer Ledisi preformed “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” which is also known as the “Black National Anthem,” prior to kickoff.

ing Ledisi on the field were 125 teenagers who are of the Greater New Orleans High School Chorale Collective.

The teenagers represented the 500 school children who first sang the song 125 years ago, according to the NFL.

Born in 1972, Ledisi is a native of New Orleans.

She’s released 11 studio albums and received an honorary doctorate degree from the Berklee College of Music.

Ledisi won a Grammy in 2021 for Best Traditional R&B performance for her performance of “Anything for You.”
