Kansas City police investigate pair of homicides in separate areas

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A pair of Kansas City homicides are being investigated in separate areas of the city Monday night.

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department said officers have responded to the scenes of homicides in the 3400 block of Wyoming as well as the 8000 block of Hickman.

Police were called to Wyoming Street just before 6 p.m. on a shooting call. Officers reported a man down in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived. The man was transported to a local hospital after life-saving measures were performed at the scene but the man died at the hospital.

KD said preliminary information indicated an altercation in the parking lot led to a shooting where multiple shots were fired.

Detectives are attempting to determine what led up to the shooting.

Police were also dispatched to the 8000 block of Hickman Mills on a reported medical nature unknown call at about 6 p.m. When they arrived, police found a man in the parking lot of a nearby convenience store.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after being found suffering from a gunshot wound.
