Tip leads to child sex crime charge filed against former Chillicothe resident
CHILLICOTHE, Mo. (KCTV) - A tip from an out-of-state healthcare provider has led to a child sex crime charge filed against a former Chillicothe resident.
Livingston County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Monday, Feb. 10, indicate that Chad A. Holmes, 29, of Chillicothe, has been charged with child molestation. The charge follows a tip from an out-of-state healthcare provider.
A probable cause statement filed by the Chillicothe Police Department revealed that on April 5, 2024, detectives received a phone call from an Iowa behavioral health center. During the call, it was reported that Holmes had sexually abused a child two years previously which caused severe behavioral concerns.
Throughout the investigation, law enforcement officials said they learned the crimes happened in 2022 while Holmes lived in Chillicothe. The victim had only been around 6 or 7 years old at the time.
As a result, Holmes was charged with child molestation in the first degree. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Monday with the condition of no bond allowed. As of Saturday, he remains behind bars in Greene County as he awaits the setting of a court appearance.
