KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A new era of Patrick Mahomes entered the conversation.

Gone is the iconic “Mahomes Mohawk” that the NFL star has sported since before he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Mahomes showed off a much shorter cut while attending a funeral for his grandfather, according to pictures shared by Sports Illustrated following the service.

Mahomes threatened the new ‘do while having a conversation with his trainer Bobby Strope that aired as part of the 2023 Netflix series “Quarterback.”

“This is my last year with the hair,” Mahomes said in the clip. “The hair is gone next year. I’m going different hairstyle (than) this year. ... I almost did it this year, but Head and Shoulders would have been mad. I can’t have two kids and a Mohawk.”

“Imagine being 40 years old with this haircut. I mean, come on.” Mahomes said later in the video.

While he kept the Mahomes Mohawk for the 2024 season and quest for a Chiefs threepeat, the star apparently decided 2025 would be a great time for a fresh start.
