K-9 sniffs out suspect hiding in storm drain
FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) - A K-9 helped sniff out a suspect who was hiding deep in the woods inside of a storm drain.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Chandler and K-9 Zade were helping the Stockbridge Police Department find a suspect who ran away from deputies.
Body camera footage shows Zade following the trail through the woods before coming across a large, cylindrical drain that the suspect was hiding in.
James Feltman was arrested and charged with obstruction, driving with a suspended license and having an expired tag, the sheriff’s office said.
In the past week, the sheriff’s office said the two have made eight arrests and helped seize two guns, 5.5 ounces of marijuana, 20 pills and two grams of methamphetamine.
“These multiple arrests have taken dangerous drugs and firearms off of the streets, making our community a safer place for everyone,” the sheriff’s office said. “The teamwork between Deputy Chandler and K9 Zade exemplifies the true spirit of law enforcement, showcasing the invaluable role that K9 units play in our fight against crime.”
