WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - The Congressional Ukraine Caucus came together on Capitol Hill Monday evening to pledge their continued for the Ukrainians on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of their country.

“Our House bipartisan Ukraine caucus gathers to pay tribute to Liberty. We especially stand with the gallant people of Ukraine,” said Rep. Marcy Kaptur, (D-OH), the co-chair of the caucus.

“We are demonstrating that we will not abandon our ally and fellow democracy in their fight for freedom,” said Rep. Rosa DeLauro, (D-CT).

The anniversary came as uncertainty grows about America’s commitment to Ukraine. Earlier in the day, the U.S. voted against a UN resolution condemning Russia for the Ukraine war. And last week, the Trump istration began direct talks with the Kremlin. President Trump also falsely blamed Ukraine for the war on Feb. 18.

Many of the in the Ukraine caucus spoke out against President Trump’s recent actions during the press conference.

“Donald Trump continues to do Russia’s job for it by bringing Vladimir Putin out of isolation, by cutting Ukraine out of negotiations,” said Rep. Steny Hoyer, (D-MD).

“The problem today lies right here Trump and Putin. Because this week, last week, Donald Trump has disgraced our country,” said Rep. Lloyd Doggett, (D-TX), while holding a picture of President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
